No 75

How/Why I Did It:

Taken in Cordoba, last September - whilst wandering around the backstreets. I was attracted by the bright colours of the flowers and the simplicity of the image. Not too much done in processing - tweaked the perspective slightly, and a bit of work with curves.

Paula Davies This is the sort of picture that I enjoy taking when we go to France.  You have done a good job with the perspective setting but I would be tempted to crop from the top of the image to just above the flowers.  As it stands the number 75 seems rather lost but cropping from the top seems to give it more prominence - and it is after all your title.  I would be tempted to apply a painterly effect but then I rarely ever end up with a straight image when I have photographed flowers!
John Davies A good graphic image. I like the strong contrasts between the saturated colours against the white wall and the number at the base is the icing on the cake. It is one of those images that you could really play with in Photoshop. You say you have tweaked the perspective “slightly” but you seem to have fallen between two stools. I think you should have either kept the converging verticals or gone the whole way and squared it up completely. I would favour the latter.

Cath Wright Well spotted - I liked the simplicity of this shot with the lovely contrast between the white wall and the window area. The arrangement of the plants in the window work particularly well. One small comment is to try moving the number 75 a little higher (nearer to the window) so there is not so much white shown below and greater focus on the lovely window area.
